If you\u2019re planning a family holiday and looking for inspiration on relaxed activities in the area, here are some tips on where to go with kids in Liptov.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Chopok by cable car<\/h2>\n

Thanks to the great location of Ski & Wellness Residence Dru\u017eba, guests can enjoy both challenging hikes in the Low Tatras ridges and easy discovery trips suitable for all ages<\/a>.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019ve already taken a walk around Vrbick\u00e9 pleso, just a few minutes from the hotel, it\u2019s time to see Liptov from above. A cable car<\/a> to Chopok is available and operates during the summer season from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, making the mountains easily accessible even for families with children.<\/p>\n

In winter, skiers. In summer, hikers.<\/h2>\n

Chopok is the third highest peak of the Low Tatras. In winter, this unofficial king of ski mountains becomes the main destination for skiers and snowboarders. In summer, it offers breathtaking views for visitors of all ages, overlooking the green Liptov basin, the High Tatras, and, in clear weather, all the way to the easternmost peak of the Low Tatras\u2014Kr\u00e1\u013eova ho\u013ea.<\/p>\n

Attractions for children<\/h2>\n

Chopok can be reached comfortably by cable car, making the journey itself an experience for kids who get to enjoy panoramic views from the cabin. At the summit, attractions around the upper Funitel station at 2002 m above sea level add to the experience.<\/p>\n

You can take photos with the dragon statue Dami\u00e1n or at the photo frame overlooking the peak of Chopok in the background. With older children, it\u2019s also worth walking up to the rocky summit, which takes less than 15 minutes at a slow pace.<\/p>\n

This modern natural science museum focuses on Slovak nature and caves, taking visitors through the story of life on our planet. \u201cDid you know that even caves can host life? Alternative plan for rainy days<\/h2>\n

In addition to that, visitors can learn more about the work of lumberjacks, shepherds, hunters, and beekeepers. You can also discover the history of skiing or step inside an imitation bear den. The museum is divided into two main exhibitions spread across four floors, with a total exhibition area of up to 1,400 square meters. A visit to the museum is an ideal activity for a rainy day or a relaxed morning after several demanding days of hiking. From the observation tower, you can also enjoy a unique view of the historic town and the surrounding mountains from a completely different perspective.<\/p>\n

A hidden gem in the Cho\u010d Mountains<\/h2>\n

On the opposite side of Liptovsk\u00e1 Mara, in the Cho\u010d Mountains above the village of Liptovsk\u00e1 Anna, there is a viewpoint known mostly by locals. This hidden gem is called \u010cere\u0148ov\u00e1 skala and offers impressive views over the reservoir and the Low Tatras on the other side. This rocky platform is one of the lesser-known tourist spots, which makes your photos from this place even more unique. The short hike, approximately 45 minutes long, starts at the village square in Liptovsk\u00e1 Anna. From the end of the village, you continue along the red hiking trail through a forest path until you reach the rocky outcrop.
