To Chopok from Hotel Dru\u017eba<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

At 2,024 meters (6,640 feet), Chopok is the second-highest peak in the Low Tatras. You can reach the summit comfortably by cable car or on foot via marked hiking trails. The hike itself is moderately challenging and usually takes about 2 to 3 hours, depending on your chosen route and fitness level. You can start directly from the hotel<\/a> and follow the hiking trail to Priehyba Saddle. From there, the trail continues beneath the Funitel gondola line<\/a>, following the ski slope all the way up toward Chopok.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n

By Cable Car All the Way to Chopok<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

If you\u2019d rather skip the steep climb, taking the cable car<\/a> is the easiest option. It brings you to the upper station just 20 vertical meters (about 65 feet) below Chopok\u2019s summit, making it a perfect starting point for a much easier hike. From the hotel, it\u2019s worth heading downhill via the Biela P\u00fa\u0165 ski slope, where you\u2019ll find the lower cable car station, which also operates during the summer season. In about 20 minutes, including a transfer to the second gondola at Priehyba Saddle, you can comfortably reach the area just below Chopok.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n

From Chopok to \u010eumbier<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The trail from Chopok to \u010eumbier follows a stunning mountain ridge with panoramic views stretching across both sides of the Low Tatras<\/a>. Along the way, you\u2019ll pass rocky formations, alpine meadows, and dramatic high-mountain scenery. Some sections of the trail can be narrow and rocky, so caution and proper hiking shoes are essential. The hike from Chopok to \u010eumbier usually takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. From the summit of \u010eumbier, you\u2019ll be rewarded with incredible views of the High Tatras, Western Tatras, and, on clear days, even the Mal\u00e1 Fatra and Ve\u013ek\u00e1 Fatra mountain ranges.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n

M. R. \u0160tef\u00e1nik Mountain Hut<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

After reaching \u010eumbier, the highest peak of the Low Tatras at 2,043 meters (6,703 feet) above sea level, you can either return the same way toward Chopok or extend your hike with a stop at the M. R. \u0160tef\u00e1nik Mountain Hut<\/a>. The trail continues across alpine meadows and dwarf pine zones, and it\u2019s well marked and easy to follow. The \u0160tef\u00e1nik Hut sits at 1,740 meters (5,709 feet) and is a popular resting point where hikers can grab food, drinks, and take a break. From the hut, there\u2019s no need to climb back up \u010eumbier. The trail bypasses the peak, allowing you to either return toward Chopok and take the cable car down, or continue along one of the many routes that traverse both sides of the Low Tatras.
