Route no. 5: Hotel Družba**** – Demänovské sedlo – Hotel Družba****
The fifth route is one of the more challenging, with an elevation gain of 850 meters it takes 5 to 6 hours. From the hotel, take crossbars 2a and 2c to ski slope no. 5 and from there you go to the path that leads to the forest. This path is well marked and visible. After it, you will reach the sign “Koniec Širokej Doliny”, from where you will continue to the right along the hiking trail leading to Demänovské sedlo. The trees in the forest will gradually decrease and the path will be more and more lined with knee timber and later only alpine meadows. In spring and summer you can see a very rare Tatra marmot in this area. In autumn you will find very tasty cranberries here again. The serpentine trail ends on the ridge of the Low Tatras. From there to the west – to the right side, a tourist path leads along the ridge to Chopok. From the ridge you can see all the peaks of the Low Tatras – Ďumbier, Chopok and Dereše. The surrounding countryside is literally enchanting and if the weather and conditions are good, you can see within a distance of 30 to 40 km. You will see the majestic peaks of the High and Western Tatras, valleys, towns and villages of Liptov. If you get lucky, you will also meet chamois that live in these places. Follow the path to Chopok, from where you can easily follow the ski slope no. 1 you get all the way to Biela Púť and back to the Ski & Wellness Residence Družba **** hotel.
